I grew up around plant and flower lovers, both my grandmothers and my mother all had/have very green thumbs. I always considered a garden my sanctuary, my peaceful place. In college I was a Botany major for a hot minute until I decided I wanted fine arts to be my pursuit and keep plants as my hobby. So the fact that this combines both of my lifelong passions and I can make a living doing it brings me so much joy.
Wanderie is a word that came to me after one or 2 glasses of wine one night that perfectly encompasses how I want flowers to make people feel. It sparks curiosity and charm, perhaps a little romantic like a walk through an English garden. I hate the word whimsical, I rather like to think my work is for the unconventional, quirky, or eccentric client. Purposefully different is how I’d describe it. My clients are unique with a high end vibe. My favorite clients come with a vibe – “moody neon” or “gothic Baroque garden” and trust me run with it!
Every new client is like a celebrity to us, we listen intently and gather all their inspirations through meetings, phone calls, and emails. We pride ourselves on open communication and really “getting the vision.” I often meet clients at the flower market to let them pick out their favorite colors and flowers; plus enjoy the magic that is the flower market. We create each proposal specifically for each client and tailor it to their needs, no 2 will ever be alike. I feel like I’m a combination of things I find most florists don’t achieve easily. I take into consideration what they like aesthetically, cost, and my artistic background to create a cohesive look that vibes for each of my brides.
I love the pressure of a wedding day..it’s what drives my perfection. I love animals, I’m an enneagram 4. I love love, which is cheesy but true. People often tell me they can hear my laugh across a space before they see me. I love Wheel of Fortune and board games. I was a high school art teacher, then a 911 dispatcher which I think is why I’m so calm under pressure and good at multitasking.
